Purpose

Purpose

Collects information from the production line (existing machines and/or operator stations), auto generate reports and alarms. Information can also be shared with maintenance terminals and office terminals.

You get ...

On-line production status If you have more than 10 machines, it is difficult to keep yourself informed on the status of all the machines.  Keping uptodate with all machines status used to be impractical.  Now, it is possible and there is a lot of advantage to keep yourself uptodate with the latest machine status.  It is a new form of control.  The faster you recognise problems, the lesser time is clocked under "down time".  This saves a lot of money, in terms of machine investment-utilisation, production bottlenecks and etc.
Auto-generate reports How many people is involved in producing shift, daily, weekly and monthly report ?  GME's CIM replaces all the manpower required to do manual data capturing, counting, analyzing, formating and printing documents.  What is the integrity of those reports ?  Manual processing always produces low integrity data.  With the CIM, you get consistently high integrity reports which are generated on time, paperless (optional) and lower cost.  Unlike some other CIM systems, GME's CIM can fully customize to your existing report formats.  If you used MS Excel, GME's CIM can generate MS Excel report for you.  In fact, you can ask for more.  You can have your reports to be on the intranet, which can be browsed by internet browsers like Netscape Navigators and Internet Explorers.  Or you can opt to send reports directly to the end-user using emails.
Situation alarm You can set criterias where alarm can be generated.  If QC has over-used the machines, an email can be sent to the production manager.  If QC was not done, an email can be sent to the QC manager.  If a serious event occurred, siren lamp and sound can be actuated.  The alarm can be in many forms: email, sound, phone, lights, switches, etc.
Measurable performance Do your company practices improvement projects ?  With CIM, you can measure the performance before and after the project was implemented.  All data protray the unbiased conclusions of your projects.  When you change products or mahines, you can measure the effect of the changes.  CIM is the perfect answer to SPC implementation.

With your own intranet server, you can gain access to shared information without having to pay heavily on client licenses and without requiring you to upgrade your PCs to the latest technology to use applications.

Cost

Cost

The cost depends on the specification very much.  We will do all the investigation and give you the actual cost.  The minimum cost of such a system is USD 20,000.00 (software and hardware).  Surprised ?  Don't believe it ?  We can prove it.

You see, CUSTOMIZATION do NOT necessarily EXPEN$IVE.  It all depends on requirements.  We don't give you redundant features and functions.  In fact, you save even more as learning curve is much shorter as the system is made to suit your situation.  The way you like it.

How it works?

How it works?

A microcontroller / PC / PLC is connected to each production machine or operator work station.  These controllers collect information directly from the machine or from the operator using keypad / card reader (barcode, magnetic strip, smart card).  The system collects several basic information: Machine, Event, Product, Operator, Time.  These information are then summarised to generate reports by the server.  The information is made available to the end users via FTP, Intranet homepages, Email, formatted files (like MS Excel, MS Word, etc).  Alarms can be generated to inform end-users when user-defined criterias (specific situations) are met.
